Rolling Stone just named them as one of the “10 New Artists You Need To Know” A big success in SXSW this spring, opening for Alabama Shakes and Tinariwen, they stop in Chicago for their first time. Later this year they will be on the globalFest stage at Bonnaroo. DJ Warp will be spinning for the crowd to continue the dancing all night long. The concert will be intimate–in the round –at Thalia. Seun Kuti and the Egypt 80 comes to the Promontory on June 23 at 8pm! Fela’s son is the reigning heir of Afrobeat and it will be fabulous to see him in this concert venue–much more intimate than the Millennium Park where he appeared last fall for the World Music Festival Chicago 2014!
